VisitSweden

The secret behind Visit Sweden's new web page is the combination of a strategic perspective and solid hard work. The site contains a lot of pictures and interactive functions. The features from ImageVault made it possible to shape VisitSweden.com into something quite special.   

The challenge

According to themself, VisitSweden's previous web page was pretty flat and boring with a traditional navigation system. Since the organization's web page often is the visitor's first contact with Sweden the overall challenge was to create an impression that arouses the visitor's desire to visit Sweden.  

- We really did our homework before we started this project. The initial prestudies took us 3 - 4 months but already from start we knew that we wanted an inspiring and dynamic web page with a lot of pictures

Pictures have a very prominent function on VisitSweden's web page and with the help from Google maps every picture can be positioned with exact coordinates. The picture slide and the overall strong focus on images was a very conscious choice in the re-construction of VisitSweden's web page. Margareta Björnberg from VisitSweden states that pictures have the advantage of creating a certain feeling at the same time as they convey credibility and quality.

The biggest challenge VisitSweden faced when re-building their website was to get all the tools to work together. Because the site is constructed with Episerver an image tool that is well integrated and implemented with the application was necessary. ImageVault turned out to be the perfect solution to match the company's need of a powerful image tool.   

- Our goal regarding quality was very high and we wanted full control over the imaging. At the same time we wished to facilitate the editors workflow. ImageVault was the obvious choice in order to respond to our needs

Results

Since VisitSweden have a global workfield with web pages on ten different languages it is very important to ensure the legal aspects by showing the photographers name and copyright.
