Skyways
When Skyways changed its logo and visual identity the www.skyways.se website needed to be updated as well. The assignment was given to Meridium who had already re-built and modified the website three times since 2006. The outcome was a completely redesigned website with a simplified menu structure and a clearer content.
The last version of www.skyways.se was launched in 2007. In that project Meridium created a modern and attractive website focusing on the reservation process and the travelling itself. One of the new features at the time was a section containing descriptions of the various destinations as well as useful tips and links. In addition to being of assistance to passengers, and perhaps even attract them to other purchases, the destination pages have another very important function: to increase the visibility in search engine result lists.
The Challenge
When Skyways changed its logo and graphic profile in 2008 www.skyways.se needed a re-design to comply with the new profile. The company was already very pleased with the website in general, so in addition to the obvious change of design, only minor adjustments of the website features needed to be made. The booking section was to remain unchanged and the focus was to streamline the website, to simplify the menu structure and to make the content clearer.
Based on previous web projects there was already an established relationship with Meridium. Skyways therefore again chose to work with Meridium, known to have good understanding of the needs of Skyways and how the company operates.
Results
- The project ran over a couple of months and went very well," says Malin Larsson E-Commerce Manger for Skyways. "Along with Meridium we had a number of suppliers involved in the project, for example the company that built the booking engine and the design agency. Obviously there are higher demands on everyone when there are a lot of people involved but since everyone knew each other since previous projects the cooperation went excellent and we saved a lot of time thanks to this.
Skyways are very pleased after the relaunch of the website. According to the annual website poll, the company is not alone in this view:
- We are often praised for our website, and the results of our recent website poll shows better results than the previous poll. It feels great that the new design has been received so well by our visitors, concludes Malin Larsson
