A support to the editors

For editors, ImageVault makes it simple and fun to work with pictures in EPIServer. By creating specific properties for the pictures they can be used in the same way throughout the whole website, which gives a professional impression. Important information such as photographer, alt-text and caption can automatically be published together with the picture.

For pictures that demands tricky height- and width properties, the editor get a predetermined cropping area which ensures that little thumbnails get exactly the right size. By using image properties in the site template, where the image settings already is pre-defined, it is possible to get one and the same image published in different sizes on several locations on the website, something that of course will save you a lot of time.

Public image bank

Thanks to the revolution and access to digital cameras the amount of pictures in an organization rapidly increases. Often there are no structured way to store these images, resulting in that users spend more and more time looking for them. Except that ImageVault makes it easier for editors to use images it also allows you to make your image bank public and accessible for everyone to find the right picture, suited for the purpose.

With a public image bank you decide who has access to your images. With ImageVault's access system you decide who has access to what. ImageVault is designed after the same principles as EPIServer in order to make it as simple as possible.

The function of file conversion allows the user to download the desired image in a format suitable for presentations, print, word document, etc.

If you're worried that your images will be misused you may want to chose to equip ImageVault with an additional feature as the Swedish Redcross did. To prevent people from unauthorized use of the organizations picture they added a function that allowed them to protect their public pictures with a digital watermark. This feature was supplemented with a function where the user can request the original image or any other desired format.

In relation to the public gallery it is also possible to create a public (or login protected) upload function, from where your photographers or other users easily can upload images into ImageVault, without accessing the program. 

Product images

By adding the article number as metadata in ImageVault you can retrieve product images in different formats for differents purposes. Why not download pictures to your business system or web-based catalog directly from ImageVault? By using metadata to specify a geographical location, it is e.g. possible to automatically place a specific image on specific places, on for instance a map.

Edit images

ImageVault also contains an editing tool where the user manually can edit the image. Features such as size change, cropping, rotate, etc. are all included and it is also possible to add a set of different filters on the image.

Connect for SharePoint
